Elevate Youth Solutions has worked effectively with Middle and High School administration to bring our program on campus using our trained, DOJ cleared mentor-coaches or by training school staff and supporting them in the set up and implementation of groups. Our model fits within class schedules meeting once each week with a group of up to 12 students in each class period. We typically launch the groups after Labor Day giving students and staff the time to settle in with the new school year. The group(s) run for 12 weeks allowing a break for end of semester demands, resuming in mid-January. The spring session typically runs 14 weeks.
Some of the schools that employ an onsite counselor will offer the training to them as another effective tool to use in a non-therapeutic, goal and solutions-focused approach to behavioral change among students. Administrators select the students for participation in the program. Some recruit higher achieving teens and use Elevate as a leadership development track for them. Others recruit from among under-served, at-risk, extreme poverty, foster and homeless populations and use EYS as an intervention program to additionally resource economically and socially marginalized students. Whatever form the EYS groups take on educational campuses, we are experiencing great results as students grow in core life skills, problem-solving and critical thinking.
At the end of each session we provide school administrators with data reports that show aggregate improvement scores from the students self-reported assessments. We also provide a customized report for each student giving measurements of improvement or decline in our 4 core areas of Connections, Intellect, Fitness and Emotions.
